Pink Magnolias

I visited my dear cousin over the weekend in Tennessee and I was AMAZED at the beautiful pink magnolia blooms. There are a few Saucer Magnolia trees in a park in the town she lives in and I have never seen witnessed them before. They are definitively the most beautiful blooms I have seen. I have seen other varieties of magnolia, which are quite often white, but I had never seen the pink variety and they didn’t disappoint. WOW! They don’t have much of a fragrance, but their beauty makes up for the lack of scent. The trees can reach a height of 25 feet and they are one of the earliest flowering trees to bloom. They can grow in USDA hardiness zones 5-9A. I may attempt to grow one in the future, but I need to do more research about their growth and maintenance. It was just really fun to get lost in the blooms. I must have taken over 20 photos of them. Being surrounded by pink petals is most every girls dream, I think.
