Sea Salt Scrub

Those who know me know how much I love sea salt.  I love to bathe with it, cook with it, and make scrubs with it.  I love sea salt so much because of the benefits it can have on your skin.  It has antibacterial properties that are pore cleansing.  Also, the magnesium, sodium, potassium, and calcium in sea salt, are hydrating, enhance the skin’s texture, and can help to reduce inflammation.

This is a favorite sea salt scrub recipe that I use throughout the year.  I use it most on my elbows, the backs of my thighs and my feet.  Those are areas then tend to be drier for me so this scrub helps to slough off dead skin and give my skin a nice glow.  I hope you like it as much as I do. =)

1 Tbsp honey

1/2 tsp fractionated coconut oil

4-5 drops essential oil (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat the shea butter and the oils in a double boiler over low heat until melted together, set aside and let cool;
  2. Using a mortar and pestle, grind the sea salt, dried rose petals and oats together until combined and the sea salts are a fine consistency;
  3. Combined the shea butter, oils, rose petals, honey, oats and sea salt together with a whisk;
