Staying Hydrated in the Warmer Months + Water Infusion Recipe

With the warm weather coming its so important to ensure that your skin and body are getting full hydration. This can be particularly challenging when you live in a super dry climate like Southern Utah and the other southwestern states.  The first tip, albeit obvious, is to make sure you are getting enough water each day. I try my best to drink 64 ounces of water each day and that amount seems to work well for my body and skin.  Generally, when it gets really warm I drink a bit more water.  Water can be really boring so I like to mix it with either fresh cut citrus or mint and cucumbers.  The following is my favorite infused water recipe to make year round, but particularly during the warmer summer months.  It’s a nice water infusion to have on hand when you need to complete your water intake.

Cucumber Mint Water

Mix the following ingredients together with ice and let cool in the fridge.

  • 10 cups water
  • 3 sprigs mint
  • 1 small cucumber sliced
  • 1 small lime or lemon sliced

Another important thing to remember is to exfoliate to slough off dry skin cells to keep the skin glowing and more receptive to moisturizer.  The heat can dry out the skin pretty fast so exfoliating face and body a couple of times a week is important.  Be sure to utilize a gentle exfoliator that isn’t too abrasive on the skin. Eventually, I will be coming out with a gentle exfoliator that will be available for purchase in our online shop. In the meantime, find a natural, gentle exfoliator that works well for your skin and gives it that extra glow.
