The Beneficial Effects on the Skin of Spending Quality Time with Animals

One of the greatest things a person can do to help alleviate stress on the mind and body, and hence the skin, is to spend quality time with animals. There have been studies done where it has been discovered that playing with animals can help elevate seratonin and dopamine in the body, which can help calm and relax you—all positive effects not only for the mind, but also for the skin.  Animals are also a great stimulus for exercise, which also has a tremendous benefit for the skin.  Exercise helps to increase blood flow in the body and blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells in the body including the skin.  Doing such activities as horseback riding or walking your dog or cat are all great activities to do and you are helping your complexion in the process.
